Ask Away JBSA!: JBSA’s environmental initiatives during Earth Month
Joint Base San Antonio is focused on renewable and green energy solutions. Our commitment extends to recycling initiatives that divert tons of plastics, metal cartridge cases, and non-hazardous solid waste away from landfills. We also collaborate with state and federal agencies to further enhance our sustainable practices. Notably, a cutting-edge geothermal energy project at the Chapman Training Annex will extract heat from the ground and transform it into a renewable and sustainable energy source for JBSA!

Army Exceptional Family Member Program Central Office will better support Soldiers and families
Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth announced establishment of a central office for the Army Exceptional Family Member Program that will improve the stationing process for families who have members with special medical or educational needs. 5th Flying Training Squadron welcomes new commander

Navy Medicine tests treatment protocols in the Artic
BEAUFORT SEA, Arctic Circle – (March 21, 2024) – Left to right:  Marcus Caldera, Justin Bequette, Andres Martinez Murillo, and Dr. William D’Angelo assigned to Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio’s Biomedical Systems Engineering and Evaluation Department, participated in Operation Ice Camp (ICE CAMP) 2024. ICE CAMP is a three-week operation that allows the Navy to assess its operational readiness in the Arctic, increase experience in the region, advance understanding of the Arctic environment, and continue to develop relationships with other services, allies, and partner organizations. NAMRU San Antonio’s mission is to conduct gap driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research to improve survival, operational readiness, and safety of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel engaged in routine and expeditionary operations.
